If you have time for a back-to-school trip to Orlando, you may find it worth your while. Florida is once again offering a tax-free weekend
to help with back-to-school shopping.
Referred to as a "Tax Free Holiday", the tax-free weekend, offered by the Florida Department of Revenue begins at 12:01 am on August 3rd
and ends at midnight on August 5th
. The tax discount
is available for purchases such as clothing and related items with a sales price of $75 or less and school supplies with a sales price of $15 or less. Certain footwear purchases are also eligible. There is no restriction on the number of eligible items you can purchase tax-free. A full list of eligible purchases can be found on the Florida Department of Revenue website.
To maximize your savings, the tax break can also be used with regular manufacturer and store coupons and with any sales that are happening that weekend.
While the tax-free weekend may not save you money on theme parks or souvenirs, you'll find plenty of ways to save in Orlando during the Florida tax holiday. With Orlando's abundance of shopping options, including outlet shopping, it's an excellent choice for your tax-free weekend shopping.
